ZIP repositories

Use these tutorials to add, update, revert, modify, and delete ZIP repositories in your Technology Catalog.

1. Add a ZIP repository

Together, let’s add the repository Dunder Mifflin - ZIP in the Technology Catalog.

Let’s assume that:

  • you have access to the Technology Catalog, and

  • your .zip file is prepared (refer to SDK documentation for more information).

1.1. Navigate to Catalog and begin adding repository

  1. Go to the Catalog module from the primary navigation menu.

  2. Select the Add Repository button.

1.2. Add ZIP repository

  1. Select the Upload ZIP archive card.

  2. Enter the name of your repository: Dunder Mifflin - ZIP

  3. Select the Choose file button, and add the .zip file for this repository.

    • Once you’ve selected the file, the Choose file button will change to Change file.

Well done! Your ZIP repository is ready for use.

2. Update a ZIP repository

Together, let’s update the repository Dunder Mifflin - ZIP.

2.1. Navigate to repository

  1. Go to the Catalog module from the primary navigation menu.

  2. Go to the Dunder Mifflin - ZIP repository.

2.2. Begin update

  1. Notice some of the information displayed about the current repository version: when the last update occurred, what changed in the repository, and how many total updates have been made to the repository.

  2. Select the Update technologies button.

    You can update repository technologies from both pages concerning that repository: overview and history.

2.3. Complete update

  1. A box will appear on your screen. Review the text.

  2. Upload your updated .zip archive by selecting the Choose file button, then selecting your file.

    • The Choose file button will change to Change file, and the name and size of the file will appear next to the button. This means your file has been uploaded successfully.

  3. Select the Update technologies button.

    There is a short amount of time after selecting Update technologies during which you can cancel the update.

Notice that the repository has been updated twice instead of once:

You can review all updates to your repository on the repository’s history page.

3. Revert a ZIP repository

Let’s revert the repository Dunder Mifflin - ZIP to a previous version.

The process to revert a repository is the same for URL and ZIP repositories.

3.1. Navigate to repository history page

Reverting repositories occurs on the repository’s history page.

  1. Go to the Catalog module from the primary navigation menu.

  2. Go to the Dunder Mifflin - ZIP repository.

  3. Go to to the History page.

  4. Notice the information about all updates to this repository in the body of the page. Additionally, the most recent update is labeled current.

  5. Select the Revert button.

3.2. Revert repository

  1. A box will appear on your screen. Review the text.

  2. Select the checkbox to confirm that reverting to the last update will delete this update.

  3. Select the Confirm revert button.

Your repository has now reverted to the previous update. Note three main changes on your repository’s history page:

  1. The description of the first update changed to 1 update reverted.

  2. The second update is now labeled current.

  3. The total number of updates decreased by one, in this case from two to one.

4. Modify a ZIP repository’s settings

Let’s modify the settings for the repository Dunder Mifflin - ZIP.

4.1. Navigate to repository

  1. Go to the Catalog module from the primary navigation menu.

  2. Go to the Dunder Mifflin - ZIP repository.

4.2. Modify settings

We need to change the name of our repository from Dunder Mifflin - ZIP to Dunder Mifflin Paper - ZIP.

  1. Notice the section on the repository’s overview page displaying current information, such as repository name, type, and .zip file.

  2. Go to Repository settings.

    You can access a repository’s settings from both pages concerning that repository: overview and history.

4.3. Change name

The only setting to modify for ZIP upload repositories is the repository name.

  1. Change the name of the repository to Dunder Mifflin Paper - ZIP.

  2. Select the Save button.

5. Delete a ZIP repository

Let’s delete the repository Dunder Mifflin - ZIP.

The process to delete a repository is the same for URL and ZIP repositories.

5.1. Navigate to repository settings

Deleting repositories occurs in the repository settings.

  1. Go to the Catalog module from the primary navigation menu.

  2. Go to the Dunder Mifflin - ZIP repository.

  3. Go to Repository settings.

    You can access a repository’s settings from both pages concerning that repository: overview and history.

5.2. Delete repository

  1. Go to the Danger Zone tab.

  2. Review the text.

  3. Select the Delete this repository button.

  4. A box will appear on your screen. Review the text.

  5. Select the checkbox to confirm that deleting this repository will disable all jobs and apps using technologies from this repository.

  6. Select the Delete this repository button.

    There is a short amount of time after selecting the Delete this repository button during which you can cancel the deletion.
